This article explains, in plain terms, how WooDonkey handles your store’s data.
How your store connects
WooDonkey controls your store through the companion plugin, which communicates with the WooDonkey dashboard over HTTPS using a bearer-token unique to your store. You can disconnect a store from the dashboard at any time, which stops WooDonkey from syncing it. To fully cut the connection, also deactivate the companion plugin in WordPress.
Where your data lives
- The dashboard runs on Cloudflare’s global edge network.
- Your synced store data (products, orders, customers) is stored in a managed, encrypted database hosted in the EU.
- WooDonkey keeps a fast mirror of your store data so the dashboard loads quickly; changes you make are written back to your live WooCommerce store.
Payments
Subscription billing is handled by Stripe. WooDonkey never stores your card details – payment information is processed and held by Stripe, a PCI-compliant provider.
Public assistant protection
The assistant embedded on the marketing site is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection) and rate limiting, and it only answers from a curated knowledge base – it has no access to your store data.
Your control over data
- Disconnect a store from the dashboard to stop syncing at any time; to fully stop the companion, also deactivate the plugin in WordPress.
- Request data deletion through support.
- Manage which team members have access via users and roles (see Store Settings & Operations).
